Our Approach
The ring that tells your story
We carry a selection of engagement rings in our showroom at all times — solitaires, clusters, vintage designs and more. If you don't see exactly what you're looking for, we make it. That's been the approach since Alan Hodgkinson opened in 1972, and it hasn't changed.
We source diamonds of certified quality and carry a range of coloured gemstones — sapphires, emeralds, and rubies — for those who want something a little different. All metals are hallmarked and UK-assayed.
Prices start from around £800 and go as far as you need. We work across all budgets and will always tell you honestly what gives you the best value.

Can't find exactly what you want?
That's what the workshop is for. Bring a photo from your phone, a rough sketch, or just a description. We'll work with you to design something from scratch — in wax first so you can see it before we commit to metal.
Most bespoke engagement rings are ready in two to four weeks. We provide honest estimates with no hidden costs.
How It Works

Come in and browse
We keep a range of rings in our showroom at all times. Come and see them in person — they look very different on your finger than on a display stand.

Talk to us
Tell us what you like and what you don't. Bring a photo from Instagram, a sketch, or just a feeling. We'll narrow it down with you.

Choose or commission
If we have the right ring in stock, it goes home with you. If you want something different, we'll design and make it — most commissions take two to four weeks.

Yours, properly
Every ring we sell comes with a full description and insurance valuation. Resizing is free, for life.
